Passionate people always find a way to make their dreams come true. This was proven recently in Surat, Gujarat. A 60-year-old Vishnu Patel suffered from polio since his childhood and hence could not even walk properly. Though this did not lower his ambition even a little. He built an e-bike with the help of motorcycle waste, laptop and smartphone batteries. This idea of Vishnu Patel reached industrialist Anand Mahindra and he announced creating a fund of Rs 1 crore to help Vishnu Patel.
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, in response to a tweet regarding Vishnu Patel, wrote, “Fabulous story. I’ll reach out to him to see if I can invest in upgradations for his workshop. In fact, he’s inspired me to personally for his workshop. In fact he’s inspired me to personally set aside Rs. 1 crore as an initial fund to invest in micro-entrepreneurs like him in the country. So much talent & innovation waiting for recognition.”

What makes this invention even more special is that Vishnu has received no technical training to build an e-bike. He is not even educated enough. He also has a little difficulty in listening. Despite all these problems, Vishnu Patel did not give up and made an e-bike in a small room. Vishnu Patel went to Mathura in UP some time ago and there he saw a ‘Desi Jugaad’ car.
After this, he also decided to do something similar. After trying hard for six months, he made an e-bike. He bought old motorcycle parts, laptops, mobiles batteries, etc. Vishnu Patel now intends to work on solar energy. He wants to build more e-bikes but the funding was always a problem. But all thanks to the ever-generous Anand Mahindra, Vishnu will soon be able to fulfill all his dreams.
