Smriti Mandhana’s Reaction On Seeing Instagram Followers Increasing From 200 To 3 Lakh In 5 Days

Social Media has become a great medium for brands and celebrities to connect with their customers and fans respectively. Especially Instagram with its addictive UI is making celebrities on its own and even helping the celebs to make profit through brand endorsements.

Cricketer Smriti Mandhana who is going through a tough phase presently as far as her form is concerned. She gained popularity during ICC World Cup 2017 after she smashed 90 runs against England and then she went on to score a century against the West Indian team.

Her batting performances helped Indian team reach the finals of ICC World Cup 2017. In 2018, she was awarded the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Award for the best female cricketer of the year and was also adjudged as the ODI player of the year by ICC for scoring 669 runs (66.9 avg).

Recently, Smriti gave an interview in which she opened up about how her life changed after the ICC World Cup 2017. She even revealed how the number of followers exponentially increased after her batting performance in England. As per her, she only knew that she had 200 followers and within a span of 5 days, the number of followers increased to 299K. Now she has over 1.9 million followers on Instagram alone.

This clearly shows how quickly social media life can change with good performances on ground. All this is because of the love Indians have for cricket and players of this game.
