Akash Deep Batra Steps Down As Executive Director & Head Of Marketing At DBS Bank

After a five-year tenure with DBS Bank, Akash Deep Batra has transitioned from his position as Executive Director and Head of Marketing, Customer Experience, and Analytics for Consumer Banking. He joined the company in May 2019 as Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing (Consumer Banking). .

Akash Deep Batra Steps Down As Executive Director & Head Of Marketing At DBS Bank

After being associated with DBS Bank for over five years, Akash Deep Batra has moved on from the role of Executive Director and Head of Marketing, Customer Experience and Analytics (Consumer Banking).

Batra communicated the move through a LinkedIn post.

He joined the company in May 2019 as Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing (Consumer Banking). Later, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing and Customer Experience (Consumer Banking), from February 2021 to February 2022. In February 2022, he was promoted to Executive Director and Head of Marketing, Customer Experience and Analytics (Consumer Banking).

Before this, Batra was associated with Twitter as Business Head from October 2018 to May 2019.

Prior to that, in his nearly seven-year tenure with Nestle, he transitioned through various roles including, Head of Brand Communication, Corporate Brand and Digital from October 2015 to October 2018. In this role, he was responsible for building capabilities internally and externally to increase brand communication effectiveness by developing integrated campaigns across platforms specifically leveraging digital to deliver differentiated brand experiences, among other things.

He also served as Head of Digital and E-commerce (Asia Pacific) from October 2013 to December 2015. In this role, he provided strategic and operational support to the zone management and business unit leaders in the Asia Pacific markets in the areas of digital marketing, social media, and e-commerce.

Before this, he was the Head of Digital Marketing and E-commerce (India) from March 2012 to September 2015. In this role, he played a leading role in setting up the Digital Acceleration Team including the DAT centre at Nestle headquarters in Gurugram.

Before this, in his nearly nine-year stint with Infosys, Batra took up various roles including, Management Consultant – Digital Consumer Innovations at Retail, CPG and Logistics Business Unit from March 2011 to March 2012. In this role, his focus was on innovating how retailers and brands engage with their consumers using business solutions that operate at the edge of the enterprise, including anytime-anywhere engagement, solutions at the intersection of mobile and social interactivity with consumers and employees, and in-store shopper engagement solutions.

Before that, he was the Product Manager and Co-Founder – Infosys ShoppingTrip360 from March 2007 to February 2011. In this role, he was responsible for conceptualising, developing, commercialising, and managing the product in this role. Previously, he was their Consultant and Solutions Lead – Pervasive Technology Solutions, Retails, CPG and Logistics Unit from June 2004 to February 2007. He also served as a Software Engineer from July 2003 to May 2004 at Infosys.
