Sidharth Shakdher has stepped down from his role as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Business Head at Paytm, top sources close to the development have confirmed to Marketing Mind.
His departure has come after joining Paytm in October 2024. The company has not yet made an official announcement regarding his exit.
Prior to joining Paytm, Shakdher has served as Chief Business Officer at Ola from January 2024 to October 2024. Before Ola, he has spent more than seven years at Hotstar in multiple leadership positions. He has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer from January 2021 to January 2024, where he has led marketing, growth and the direct-to-consumer business for Disney+ Hotstar. Earlier, he was Executive Vice President and Business Head from September 2018 to December 2020.
He has also served as Senior Vice President and Growth Head from June 2016 to August 2018, leading brand marketing, growth marketing, partnerships, martech and analytics.
Earlier in his career, Shakdher has worked as Head, Marketing and Growth at Amazon from February 2015 to June 2016 in Seattle, where he has led category marketing, growth strategy and customer experience initiatives for the home and hardlines business.
From February 2010 to February 2015, he has been Category Marketing Head at Reckitt Benckiser in New York. He has also served as Senior Marketing Manager – India and South Asia at Xerox Corporation from September 2006 to October 2008.
Prior to Xerox, he has worked as Country Category Manager at HP from September 2005 to August 2006, managing category strategy, marketing, planning, trade and sales.
From October 2003 to September 2005, he has been Product Marketing Manager at Canon Inc., leading marketing and digital transformation initiatives for its consumer imaging solutions business in India.
He began his leadership journey at SAMSUNG SDS, where he has served as Business Manager – APAC from May 2000 to September 2003.
