We know of customer care executives to be robotic, mostly. After rehearsing the same lines, again and again, it seems that their jobs are pretty much in a dead-end. However, some companies have trained their Customer Service employees to use their inner voice and reply to customers with nothing less than a sarcastic or savage comment. The same happened to a customer whose parcel got lost and she reached out to Amazon Customer Support to help her out.
Lucy Harrison put up a tweet on Twitter to share with her followers a hilarious and witty conversation she had with the Amazon Support team. The service representative, Abigail, was in conversation with Lucy who declared that her Amazon parcel was lost in transit.
This is how the conversation went.

Muting this now bcos my phone is having a meltdown!! For anyone getting their knickers in a twist, I only didn't greet Abigail because her message sent at the same time mine did. She has clearly captured the pandemmy mood of the nation and for that we must Stan. Stay safe xo

This simple reply by Abigail garnered 4.8 lakh likes. Some users found this absolutely hilarious whereas others regarded Abigail as highly unprofessional. These were the reactions received,

Replied to my boss with ¯_(ツ)_/¯ the other day. Far too much Internet at this point.

However, Lucy took the reply in good spirits and resonated with everyone who was feeling the pandemic blues.
I honestly felt her so much though. half my work emails I look at and just wanna 'lol' right back

Thankfully, all’s well that ends well! The parcel had in fact been delivered and kept outside Lucy’s house, hidden in a bush. Abigail did the needful by informing Lucy about this who took the whole situation in good spirits, without scolding Abigail or calling her out for her behavior. And we think this is how customers should be! Not everything is about being triggered.
Would you have reacted the same way Lucy did? What would you have done if this happened to you?
