Eternal, the parent company of Zomato, Blinkit, District and Hyperpure, increased its advertising and sales promotion expenditure by nearly 41% year-on-year in the first quarter of FY27, underscoring its continued focus on brand building and customer acquisition.
According to the company’s unaudited financial results, advertising and sales promotion expenses stood at Rs 945 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to Rs 671 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Sequentially, the spend also edged up from Rs 936 crore in the March 2026 quarter.
The marketing outlay came alongside a sharp rise in revenue from operations, which increased to Rs 20,211 crore during the quarter from Rs 7,167 crore a year earlier. Advertising and sales promotion accounted for nearly 4.7% of the company’s operating revenue during the quarter.
On a daily basis, Eternal spent approximately Rs 10.5 crore on advertising and sales promotion during the three-month period, reflecting its sustained investment in strengthening consumer awareness and engagement across its businesses.
In its Q1 FY27 shareholder communication, the company indicated that investments in brand building would continue, particularly for Blinkit and District, as it prioritises long-term growth and market leadership over short-term margin expansion.
