In recent times, digital advertisements have taken over all other modes of marketing. With the online platforms having billions of people accessible to the leading brands, it only makes it obvious for these companies to focus on digital campaigns more.

However, billboard campaigns have undoubtedly been one of the most sort-after modes of advertisement for decades. Even today, a creative ad catches all the attention and even makes it go viral on social media eventually.

Here are some of the most creative billboards ever put up by brands in the past few years.

Koleston – Change

This advertisement was created by Leo Burnett, Lebanon for Koleston which was put up in October 2007.

This heartwrenching campaign was put up by BBC World in November 2007.

Deadline Couriers – Self-Destructing Billboard

In 2007, a New Zealand courier service company called Deadline Express Couriers demonstrated how serious they are about their delivery timings.

McDonald’s – Giant Egg

Created by Leo Burnett, Chicago (the same agency that did the lettuce billboard), the Giant Egg was installed across from Wrigley Field in Chicago in July 2008.

Carlsberg – #ProbablyTheBest

The Economist

A UK-based creative advertising and brand management agency, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, came up with this very creative OOH ad campaign in 2014.

Formula Toothcare – Bite

Ogilvy & Mather, Jakarta, designed this brilliant ad campaign for Formula Toothcare in 2016

Oldtimer – Tunnel

Oldtimer which is a major Austrian chain for motorway rest stops aired this innovative billboard called ‘Tunnel’ in 2007.

Panasonic – Nose Hair Trimmer

In 2009, Panasonic advertised its nose hair trimmer’s safety cutting system with these eye-grabbing billboards.
