Harley Davidson and Triumph have recently announced their plans for emerging markets like India and these bikemakers will target the portfolio of Royal Enfield. Unsurprisingly, Royal Enfield is aware of this and has revealed its plans to take on these global giants.
As per the latest reports from ET, Royal Enfield will be launching a new range of superbikes in the mid-size segment of 250-700 cc. Interestingly the company hasn’t told about the names it will use. In the interviews, heads of Royal Enfiled are using the codenames J, P, Q and K.
Around 6 new bikes are planned till 2023, which will also include bikes above 650cc. This can help Royal Enfield in becoming one of the top brands in the premium bike segment. Note that, RE is currently the most profitable two-wheeler maker in India with margins of over 30% with a market share of 90% in the 200-500 cc segment mainly because of the Classic 350 model.
