A delegation from the News Broadcasters and Digital Association (NBDA), headed by President Rajat Sharma, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss the challenges and constraints impacting the growth of the ‘News’ genre in the era of the digital revolution.
The delegation briefed the Prime Minister on the current state of the news broadcast industry. Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw also attended the meeting.
The delegation that met with PM Modi included notable members such as Anuradha Prasad Shukla, Chairperson-cum-Managing Director of News24 Broadcast India; Rahul Joshi, Managing Director of TV18 Broadcast; Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of TV Today Network; Dhruba Mukherjee, Director of ABP Network; Anil Kumar Malhotra, Advisor at Zee Media Corporation; and Sanjay Pugalia, Director of New Delhi Television.
I. Venkat, Director of Eenadu Television; R. Mahesh Kumar, Managing Director of Sun TV Network; Varun Kohli, COO of the News Broadcasting Business at Bennett Coleman & Co.; and Annie Joseph, Secretary General of NBDA, also took part in the meeting.
