Top 10 TV Channels In India Based On TRP

Television has become an important part of every individual nowadays. And in India, television is the favourite pastime for people. So, the Indian TV channels have to provide them with the best of their contents. But who decides that the TV channel is providing the content in sync with the viewer’s interests?

TRP decides it. TRP is the abbreviation of Television Rating Point, which indicated the popularity of a program on the television. And in the end, the TRPs of all the programs on the TV channel is combined to form an opinion about the TV channel, as to where does it stand. Let’s take a look.

Top 10 TV channels based on TRP

10. Colors TV

Established in 2007, the TV channel is a partial kind of joint venture between Viacom and Network 18 Group. The channel is the tenth most viewed channel by the India public. It provides a host of daily soaps for the entertainment of its viewers.

9. Star Plus

The part of the 21st Century Fox’s Star India Network, Star Plus has made its name in the Indian television industry with a host of entertainment programs, which is a combination of comedies, family dramas, youth-oriented reality shows.

8. & TV

Possessed by the renowned enterprise- Zee Entertainment Enterprise, the channel &TV is pronounced as And TV. It is a Hindi language kind of entertainment channel, which offers daily soaps for its viewers.

7. Zee TV

Another channel possessed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Zee TV is an amalgamation of programs broadcasted in Hindi language and some regional languages.

6. India TV

Launched in 2004, the TV channel is the leading facility of Independent News Service. It is a Hindi news channel launched by Rajat Sharma and his wife Ritu Dhawan. The TV channel has become the first TV channel to enter into the top ten list of most famous channels in India according to TRP.

5. Sony Entertainment

Founded in the year 1995, the channel is possessed by Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt. Ltd. Sony Entertainment Television provides general entertainment kind of programs like Kaun Banega Crorepati and C.I.D. for their viewers.

4. Star Cricket

The sports-oriented Indian TV channel is the first one to enter the top 10 list of famous Channels in India according to TRP. The channel is possessed by 21st Century Fox and displays the finest of live sports as well as sports-related programs.

3. Sab TV

Another channel possessed by the Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt. Ltd., SAB TV is the third most viewed channel in India. The channel is mainly focused on programs related to comedy and light-hearted drama shows.

2. Zee Cinema

Once again the Zee Entertainment Enterprise takes the name on the list. This time, in the Hindi film entertainment. The channel was founded in 1995 and aired movies and film founded programming for whole 24 hours a day.

1. Set Max

Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt. Ltd. takes the crown of the most viewed channel by the Indian public. The channel is known for broadcasting films and live award shows. It also is known for broadcasting some sports related programs.
