The research platform HURUN in collaboration with real-estate group M3M, has compiled a list of the richest people in the world for the year 2022. And inspite of a difficult 2021, owing to the pandemic and lockdowns, the number of Indian billionaires has risen, with more than 250 billionaires on the list this year.

With Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault being the top three richest billionaires in the world, the first Indian to be featured is at number 9, who is none other than Mukesh Ambani. With many new Indian entrants to the list, lets take a look at the top 10 richest Indians.

1. Mukesh Ambani

The richest Indian Is Mukesh Ambani, who is the ninth richest person in the world for 2022. With a net worth of $103 billion, his company Reliance, has helped his wealth grow at 24%.

2. Gautam Adani & Family


One of the maximum gainers this year, with Alphabet’s Sergey Brin and Larry Page globally, Gautam Adani saw an increase in his net worth at 153%. He is on the 12th rank worldwide, and is worth $81 billion, adding INR 6000 crore every week in the last year. He is the second richest man in not just India, but Asia, following Mukesh Ambani.

3. Shiv Nadar & Family


Ranked at number 46th on the global rich list, with a net worth of $28 billion, Shiv Nadar is the co-founder of HCL Technologies. He is the third richest person in the country.

4. Cyrus Poonawalla


Cyrus Poonawalla is the richest Healthcare Billionaire in the world with a net worth of $26 billion. With a rise of 41% in his wealth last year, the vaccine king of India is one of the newest entrants in the list and ranked 55th on the global list and is the fourth richest Indian.

5.Lakshmi Nivas Mittal


The second new entrant to the list is Lakshmi Nivas Mittal with a net worth of $25 billion. The second richest metal and mining businessman in the world is ranked 60th richest person globally, and is the fifth richest Indian.

6.Radhakishan Damani


Ranking 67 on the global rich list, the retail king is the sixth richest Indian with his net worth of $23 billion. He is the third new Indian entrant this year.

7. S.P. Hinduja & family


Sharing ranks with Radhakishan Damani, is another new entrant in the global rich list. S.P. Hinduja, Chairman of Hinduja Group’s net worth is $23 billion. This makes him 67th richest person globally, and the seventh richest person in India

8. Kumar Mangalam Birla & family

The richest cement manufacturer in the world, Kumar Mangalam’s net worth is $ 18 billion, which saw an increase by 64% from the last year. He is globally the 104th richest individual and eight richest Indian.

9. Dilip Sanghavi 7 Family


Another shared rank, at 104th richest person globally is also Dilip Sanghavi of Sun pharmaceuticals. He is the ninth richest Indian.

10. Uday Kotak

The third richest banker in the world, Uday Kotak, is the tenth richest Indian and his wealth has increased by a massive 270% in the last decade. His global rank is 120 with a net worth of $16 billion.

Mother Dairy is targeting a 20% increase in revenue to over Rs 24,000 crore in FY27, backed by rising consumer demand and plans to expand into new markets, according to media reports. As per media reports, the dairy major recorded a turnover of Rs 20,300 crore in FY26, up 17% year-on-year. The company has more than doubled its revenue over the last five years, crossing the Rs 20,000-crore milestone. As part of its growth strategy, Mother Dairy is looking to strengthen its presence outside Delhi-NCR. Chairman Meenesh Shah said the company is exploring entry into new markets where it currently has limited or no presence. The company is also setting up a dairy plant in Maharashtra, has leased a facility in Hyderabad, and is establishing a second plant in Bihar. Managing Director Jayateertha Chary said sales in the first two months of the fiscal have been encouraging, with ice cream emerging as a strong-performing category. Reports also suggest that from Mother Dairy’s FY26 turnover, the dairy business contributed more than Rs 15,000 crore, while edible oils and horticulture accounted for around Rs 5,000 crore. Around 63% of revenue came from Delhi-NCR, with the remainder generated from other parts of the country. The company currently reaches more than 95 cities across India and operates nine milk processing plants, four horticulture processing plants and 16 associated edible oil facilities.
