These Brands Are The Leading Advertisers In India For Jul-September Quarter

A report released by AdEx India, a TAM Media Research division, has reported that television volumes increased by 4% in the third quarter of July-September 2022 when compared with its previous quarter.
This data was derived from more than 600 TV channels, that are under the surveillance of TAM AdEx from July-September2022.

Top sectors in advertising

The top three sectors in advertising for July-Sept 2022 are Food and Beverages ranked first with a 21% share, services and personal care/ personal hygiene ranked second, both with a 16% share.

All three sectors retained the same position as they were in the previous quarter.

However, the auto sector climbed up four spots to be ranked as the ninth most advertised sector, while personal healthcare exhibited a decline, though it is still one of the top ten sectors this quarter as well.

Top Product categories in advertising

Toilet soaps with a 5.2% share lead the list of the top product categories in advertising this quarter. It is followed by the toilet and floor cleaners with a share of 4%.

Ecom Media, entertainment, and social media are third followed by milk beverages and toothpaste respectively.

Washing powders and liquids are sixth on the list followed by aerated soft drinks.

However, though a new entrant, the mosquito repellents category on number 8, showed the highest growth rate – 2.2 times in July to September, compared to its previous quarter.

Shampoos saw a massive decline from 3rd position to 9th. The top ten categories together shared 29%of ad volumes in this quarter.

More than 190 categories registered positive growth.

Leading advertisers

Reckitt Benckiser, HUL, and Brooke Bond Lipton India have been top advertisers since the beginning of 2022. But this time, Reckitt Benckiser replaced HUL to take the numero uno position.

Godrej Consumer Products came in third, Coca-Cola India is fourth and Cadburys India comes in a close fifth. Brooke Bond Lipton India slipped to the sixth position. Procter & Gamble is seventh on the list.

Procter & Gamble Home Products and ‘Colgate Palmolive India’ were the new entrants in the Top 10 list of Jul-Sep’22

Leading Brands

-Six out of the top ten brands are from the Reckitt & Benckiser camp.

-Dettol Antiseptic Liquid is the leading brand, followed by Lizol All in 1. Dettol Toilet soap is in 3rd position and Harpic Power plus 10X Max Clean on fourth rank.

-Mortein Insta is fifth on the list and Maaza is sixth, followed by Amazon. in on seventh position.

-Airtel Xtreme Box is eighth on the list.

-The top ten brands contribute to almost 11% of the total advertising in this quarter.
