1. Paytm acquires TicketNew for $40 million

2. Ed-tech startup Smartivity raises Rs 13.5 crore

Founded in 2015, a Delhi-based startup named Smartivity has raised Rs 13.5 crore in funding from investor Ashish Kacholia. Smartivity is popular for making interactive and smart toys for kids.

3. Bengaluru based startup Edyoo raises $1 million

Bengaluru-based startup Edyoo has raised around $1 million from RS Shanbag, who is the Chairman of Valuepoint Group. This amount will be used for expanding the team and improving the products. ALong with giving the option of paying school fees online, Edyoo sells products such as books, uniforms, water bottles, stationery.

4. Google planning to support Asian startups to pitch to investors

Google has decided to support Asian startups by helping them in learning how to pitch investors. Some selected startups will get mentorship from Google. The only condition for applying is that the startups must have raised at least $50,000.

5. Elon Musk led SpaceX launches 2 satellites to track Earth’s water cycle

SpaceX has launched 2 NASA satellites to track the Earth’s water movement and ice melt. These satellites will reach an altitude of 490km and will circle the Earth after every 90 minutes.

7. E-commerce startup Snapdeal sued by sellers

Sellers at Snapdeal have filed complains against the company for not paying their dues. Veepee Electronics, a Bengaluru based seller alone has sued Snapdeal for dues of about Rs 5 crore. Another firm Spacewood Furnishers has filed for recovery of Rs 18 crore from Jasper Infotech.
