On World Painter Appreciation Day, Nippon Paint announced a new initiative to recognise and support painters across India. Through its service platform NEO by Nippon Paint, the company redefined the role of painters by introducing a new identity: ‘Home Stylists’.
As part of this effort, the company is positioning painters as key contributors to home design and finish, moving beyond the traditional view of them as just service providers.
The initiative includes training in soft skills to help painters better engage with customers and provide informed advice. The company’s statement mentioned that so far, more than 100 painters have been trained and certified under this program. In addition, Nippon Paint has introduced a new onboarding kit and updated uniforms, including ID cards and a branded essentials bag, to support this new identity.
A key part of the campaign is the release of India’s first Painter Anthem—a professionally produced rap song created in collaboration with a well-known artist. The song is meant to recognise and celebrate the skills and contributions of painters. Watch the anthem here.
“Painters are the people who bring life to walls and homes. With this initiative, we want to give them a stronger identity and the tools to grow professionally,” said Mahesh Anand, President, Nippon Paint India Decorative Business. “The Painter Anthem and the new Home Stylist identity are part of our broader efforts to support and uplift the painting community.”
This campaign continues Nippon Paint’s focus on improving industry standards through recognition, training, and professional development for painters.
