CEO & CCO Of India’s First All-Women Agency ‘Ladyfinger’ Tista Sen To Launch Tista Thinks

After birthing India’s first all-women agency Ladyfinger, part of Rediffusion, in April 2023, and running the same as CEO and CCO before calling it quits in January, this year, Tista Sen is now set to launch Tista Thinks. But, as of now speculations surround the same’s ‘agency’ proposition.

Setting up India’s first all-women agency- Ladyfinger, part of Sandeep Goyal-led independent ad agency- Rediffusion, in April 2023 and serving the role of its CEO and CCO for close to a year, before deciding to part ways from Rediffusion in January, this year, Tista Sen has now decided to launch Tista Thinks.

Announcing the launch of the same via a cryptic post on LinkedIn, she mentioned, “Umm another agency. Nada. Another name. Nada. If this last year has taught me anything it is that you are your own brand and the people who want to work with you are the people who value you. What you bring to the table. What you agree to disagree about. What you feel passionate about. And respect why you do what you do. So yeah. Launching soon.”

While this development has certainly caught eyeballs from India’s advertising fraternity, it is still unsure as to what would the proposition be centred around and will or won’t it be an ‘agency’ founded by the creative leader herself.

Some even suggest that it, well, could be the beginning of her consulting journey, something which she had to set aside last year, after parting ways from Wunderman Thompson (now VML). Or, maybe a column.

In April 2023, Sen had launched Ladyfinger under the aegis of Sandeep Goyal with an aim to provide gender-balance in advertising and creative excellence.

Before that, she worked independently as a Creative Consultant after parting ways from Wunderman Thompson, an agency which she joined in 2001 and as part of the same, worked on brands like Unilever, ITC, Godrej, GSK, Aditya Birla, Sony, Mutual Funds and on a slew of categories ranging from skin to hair, beauty, apparel, nutrition, fashion, financial services, appliances, health, media and more.

She started her career with ad film production company- Whitelight Production and went on to join Lowe Lintas as a Writer after assisting on over 60 commercials. During her stint at Lowe, she worked on brands like Johnson & Johnson, Cadbury’s and Unilever.

That being said, during the course of her advertising career, Sen has been ranked among the 20 most creative people in Asia, and worked on campaigns that have won numerous metals across the world including Cannes, Clio, Ad-Fest, One Show, D&AD, Clio, Spikes Asia including the Grand Prix and Gold for her work on Lost Daughters in 2022.

Over the years, she has also been on the jury of several global advertising festivals in India and abroad, including Cannes, D&AD, Clio, LIA, Gerety Awards, Spikes and The New York Festival.
