India’s Cities Where The Richest People Live In

According to the IIFL Hurun India Rich List 2021, 1007 Indians have been identified who have crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark. The richest man in India- Mukesh Ambani for the tenth consecutive year has retained the top spot with INR 7,18,000 crore followed by Gautam Adani and Shiv Nadar. Let’s take a look at where are these notable individuals reside, city, state and country wise.

Mumbai bags the top spot with 25% of the list residing in the city the City of Dreams. The likes of Mukesh Ambani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Dilip Sanghavi, Radhakrishna Damani as well as the richest woman in India- Smita Crishna Godrej reside in Mumbai. More than 250 entrants on the list live in this metropolitan city and is followed by Delhi, with over 160 individuals with the highest financial worth in the country. Delhi is home to individuals like Shiv Nadar, Sunil Mittal, Kushal Pal Singh, and this year has another 39 additions made from this city entering the list.

Bengaluru came in third with 85 rich individuals like Wipro’s Azim Premji, NR Narayana Murthy and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. Followed by the City of Pearls, Hyderabad has 56 individuals who have made their way to the India’s richest list like Murali Divi of Divi’s laboratories is based in Hyderabad. Chennai comes in fifth with 43 individuals on the list residing in the city. Followed by Ahmedabad with 42 richest individuals of the country calling it their home.

Kolkata with 36 comes on the seventh position and Pune with 31 people on the list living in the city coming in eight. Following Pune is Surat and then is Abu Dhabi as a preferred choice of stay for Indians with a high worth.

London landmarks

Other cities like Gurugram, London, Coimbatore, Ludhiana, Rajkot, Faridabad, Lucknow and Nagpur have also been seen emerging on the list that houses rich Indians

With maximum number of India’s wealth makers living in Maharashtra, Delhi comes second followed by Karnataka. The state of Gujarat added 15 individuals to grab the fourth place, overtaking Tamil Nadu this year. Then comes Telangana, West Bengal, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in that order.

Out of the 1007 individuals on the list, 915 reside in India followed by 47 in the United States of America and 18 of them in United Arab Emirates. United Kingdom has 13 richest Indian on the list followed by 4 living in Singapore and 10 others living in other countries of the world.
