Popular smartphone maker Xiaomi’s Global spokesperson Donovan Sung has been involved in a controversy over using fake photos to promote the newly-launched POCO F1 on Instagram.
Users on Reddit are claiming that the image which Sung shared on his Instagram account, saying it was captured by POCO F1 is actually captured by Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S smartphone as it had the “Mi 2S” watermark at the bottom. Seeing the criticism, Sung removed the photo and Xiaomi is yet to respond to this.

Note that, Huawei recently faced criticism when an actress from its commercial shared behind-the-scene photos on Instagram. The company had showcased that the shoot of the advertisement was done by Nova 3 smartphone posted but the picture revealed a DSLR camera was used to take selfies and not the smartphone.
Surprisingly, this controversy has come after POCO F1 broke all the records of OnePlus 6 in terms of selling flagship phones in India. POCO F1 popularity is mainly due to the affordable price it is offering for Snapdragon 845. However, it has been discovered that this phone lacks to support HD video playback. This means one cannot play any HD videos from streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, on the Poco F1. This is a big negative considering the craze India is seeing for video streaming platforms.
