Highlights From Day 1 Of Auto Expo 2018: Major Launches and Much More

Auto Expo has proven to be the most anticipated automotive event in India. The 14th edition of Auto Expo event will be held at the India Expo Mart in Delhi from February 9-14 while February 7-8 is reserved for the media and exhibitors.
One bad news is that many bike and car and manufacturers are not participating the Auto Expo this year. Some of the car manufactures in this list are –Bentley, Chevrolet, Jeep India, Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda. Whereas, the bike manufacturers including Royal Enfield, Ducati, KTM India and Bajaj will also miss this big event. Here are some of the highlights from Day 1 of Auto Expo media preview:

KIA entering India

South Korea’s second-largest automobile manufacturer KIA has announced its entry into the Indian market. KIA has introduced its global models and also unveiled the SP Concept.

Hyundai Elite i20

Hyundai Motor has launched the 2018 Hyundai Elite i20 with the price tag of Rs 5.35 lakh for petrol variant and the diesel variant for Rs 6.73 lakh.

Renault Zoe EV

Renault introduced Zoe which is its electric car variant. Zoe produces 91bhp and 225nm of torque with a 41kw battery and driving range of 403 km.

Toyota Yaris Compact Sedan

Much awaited Toyota Yaris has finally arrived in India. Yaris is very attractive in looks and Toyota has put many efforts in the interior to impress Indian customers. With Yaris, Toyota will take on the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. Yaris is only available in petrol version right now. It has a 1.5-litre dual VVT-i petrol engine.

Suzuki has unveiled the Suzuki Burgman scooter with a 125 cc engine. It is the first of its kind maxi-scooter which is bulky in size with 14-inch wheels and a wide range of new features.

Mercedes-Maybach S 650

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Maybach S 650 in India for a price tag of Rs 2.73 crore. This car is also available in a lower version which is called S 560 and is priced at Rs 1.94 crore.
