Here Is How Brands Celebrated World Environment Day 2023 With Thoughtful Campaigns

Supported by a host of NGOs and businesses along with many governments and their divisions across the globe, the World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th May each year since its inception in 1973.

Here Is How Brands Celebrated World Environment Day 2023 With Thoughtful Campaigns

Led by the United Nations Environment Program, this day is celebrated in order to encourage awareness regarding nurturing and protecting our environment.

Just like in the recent years, many brands have come forward in 2023 pledging their commitment towards a cleaner and better environment for us and future generations.

Let’s take a look at how eleven brands celebrated this day.

1. Zomato

Taking a cue from the movie Lagaan, Zomato pledged to recycle waste/’kachra’ (in this case Aditya Lakhia who played the character of Kachra in the movie), showing how waste can be used in myriad ways.

2. Ixigo

Ixigo conveyed how an empty bottle landing in a dustbin can also be an example of a safe landing.

3. Mamaearth

Through its campaign, #YourGoodnessMakesEnvironmentBeautiful, the beauty and wellness brand asked children pertinent questions relating to the environment, and shared how the brand contributes towards making a positive difference in environment-related issues.

4. KFC India

The fast food giant turned their restaurants into green restaurants using eco-friendly materials, introducing energy management systems and recycling water to reduce wastage.
Their have committed to reducing 46% greenhouse gas emissions by 20230.

5. Sony Pictures Networks

In order to achieve zero waste to landfill the brand implemented a comprehensive waste management system during their shoot for one of their shows in Manali.
A commendable team effort that goes a long way in showing how every person’s contribution is important in making the environment sustainable.

6. Pepsico

This brand has always shown massive commitment towards making the environment a better place. This year, the brand shared all its efforts in the “Purna- Unnati ki Saajhedari” initiative undertaken by the brand in Mathura, Vrindavan.

7. TCS

TCS released a video that asked a pertinent question- How far will you go to beat pollution? It also conveyed that one need not go very far as change begins at home.

8. Aditya Birla Group

With a digital video featuring the voice of actor Vijay Raaz, the Aditya Birla Group stressed on how waste is important and can be recycled to produce something useful and priceless.

9. Bhamla Foundation

In a bid to raise awareness about plastic pollution, its ill-effects and solutions, an anthem featuring a host of Bollywood celebs and artists was released. The catchy anthem
called ‘Tik Tik Plastic 2.0” is a joint initiative by Bhamla Foundation, Bollywood Hungama, the United Nations Environment Programme, and the G20 India Presidency.

10. HCL

The brand urged people to go plastic free with a strong and hard-hitting creative showcasing its negative impact.

11. Maruti Suzuki

The car brand urged everyone to make every car service a green service, in a bid to replenish all the lost green on earth.

12. Maggi

With an interesting concept of Blue + Yellow = Green, Maggi urged everyone to dispose their empty yellow Maggi packets in blue bins so that they can be disposed off responsibly.
