Defence Minister Slams Doordarshan For Showing Ads In Tyagaraja Aradhana

| Published on January 7, 2018

Nirmala Sitharaman, Defence Minister of India criticized Doordarshan for cutting off the live telecast of the annual Tyagaraja Aradhana to show ads. She believes that showing ads in such a programme is irrelevant and thoughtless. Tyagaraja Aradhana is an annual event that is organized to honour Telugu saint-composer Tyagaraja. Musicians from across the world come together to perform at this event. Everything was going good and our defense minister was happy on the occasion she tweeted:

Nirmal’s happiness changed into anger when an ad was shown during the telecast. She again used Twitter and wrote:“Yo @DDNational what! You couldn’t wait for a few moments more for the Pancharatna Krithi-s to be completed. Advertisement and more. #Aradhana #Tyagaraja . Thoughtless, insensitive,”

This tweet started getting numrous number of replies from users. A lot of them supported the Defence Minister for this.
It isn’t a cricket match to take a break between the overs.

From no where the advertisements pops up.

They do same thing even while broadcasting Mysore Dasara.
