Columbia Pacific Communities’ SVP - Marketing & Communications, Piali Dasgupta, Moves On

After being associated with Columbia Pacific Communities for more than five-and-a-half years, of which she spent the last three-and-a-half years serving as the company’s Senior Vice President- Marketing and Communications, Piali Dasgupta has moved on.

She joined the senior living community operator in September 2018 as Vice President- Marketing and was elevated to the role of SVP- Marketing and Communications after two years, in August 2020.

Sharing her views on the departure from Columbia Pacific Communities, Dasgupta mentioned that since last Friday was her last working day in the company whose founding leadership team she had joined at a time when ‘Columbia Pacific Communities’ didn’t even exist in India and people had only heard of ‘Columbia Asia Hospitals’, her journey in the past five-and-a-half years has been eventful.

“It’s been an immensely fulfilling experience building the brand, the business and the category from scratch and making it the most preferred consumer brand in the senior living category in a span of five years,” she said.

With this, she also added, “The opportunity to serve seniors, give them a voice and visibility, fight ageism and age-related stereotypes that exist in society, craft the narrative of positive ageing, and create a benchmark setting senior care brand in the country, is something that I will always be grateful for.”

Before joining Columbia Pacific Communities, she was the Creative Director/Branch Head at Publicis Groupe’s SapientRazorfish from October 2016 to September 2018 and was responsible for driving digital marketing strategy and content for Aditya Birla Fashion Retail brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England, People and Planet Fashion.

Prior to that, she was associated with Amazon as Fashion Editor (Marketing Communication) for more than two years, starting February 2014.

From August 2012 to February 2014, she also worked with Myntra. She joined the e-commerce player in the capacity of Fashion Editor and was elevated to the role of Associate Fashion Director (Marketing) in August 2013.

Before that she worked as a Principal Correspondent for various publications including MiD Day, Times Group, Bangalore Mirror etc. from March 2011 to August 2012. She started her career with BCCL as a Correspondent in January 2007.
