Pinkustar Borah has been appointed Chief Digital & Technology Officer at Unilever International, marking his first international assignment after nearly 19 years with Hindustan Unilever (HUL).
Based in Singapore, Borah announced the move on LinkedIn, describing it as a new chapter after a career that saw him progress through multiple technology leadership roles across manufacturing, customer development, digital transformation and customer experience.
Prior to his new role, Borah served as Chief Digital & Information Officer – Personal Care & Customer Experience at HUL from January 2025 to July 2026, where he led digital initiatives across personal care, customer experience, eB2B platform Shikhar, route-to-market, e-commerce, modern trade and M&A.
Before that, he was Director, Head of IT – Customer Experience, South Asia from January 2024 to January 2025, following a three-year stint as Technology Lead – Customer Development, UniOps, South Asia between February 2021 and January 2024. He also served as Senior IT Manager – Customer Development, GeoIT South Asia from April 2019 to February 2021.
Earlier in his career, Borah was Head of IT, Unilever Nepal from January 2017 to March 2019, after serving as Assistant IT Manager – Customer Development from November 2014 to December 2016. His journey also included roles as IT Business Partner/STA, Unilever Sri Lanka (July 2013–October 2014), Senior IT Executive (February 2011–June 2013) and IT Executive (February 2007–January 2011).
With close to two decades at HUL, Borah has built expertise across digital transformation, customer development, enterprise technology, supply chain, route-to-market and IT-led business innovation. In his new global role, he will lead the digital and technology agenda for Unilever International.
