ada’s Anurag Gupta Joins The Womb Communications As CEO

After serving the role of Chief Operating Officer at Malaysia-based Marketing company ada for close to six years now, Anurag Gupta has now joined The Womb Communications as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Having joined ada in July 2018, Gupta was responsible for building SE Asia’s most exciting marketing company by integrating data, media, tech commerce and content and helping the company’s client navigate the notoriously fragmented, complex and continuously evolving digital ecosystem.

Of these, he spent the last four years witnessing the marketing company grow explosively from 100 people to 1200 people, onboarding hundreds of clients across industries and being declared one of fastest growing independent agency network in the world.

Before ada, he was associated with Wunderman as Chief Growth Officer Asia Pacific from June 2017 to July 2018.

Prior to that, he also worked with WPP for more than six years as Chief Operating Officer- WPP Team P&G Asia.

In the past, he was also associated with DDB Mudra Group as Chief Strategy Officer- MudraMax from August 2008 to June 2011.

Commenting on the development and hinting at ‘The Womb 2.0′, Navin Talreja and Kawal Shoor, Founding Partners, The Womb Communications, said, “Our current offering of cutting-edge strategy and bold, unignorable creative work has fired up growth for our clients. Admittedly, The Womb has been very focused on creating top-of the-funnel solutions. The opportunity of unleashing big strategic and creative ideas on data dependent mid funnel and bottom funnel work has only grown with time. Not too many agencies know how to do that. And clients need that in an increasingly fragmented world. In Anurag we found someone who’s classically trained but spent the last few years building a data and tech company of a thousand people, spread across 10 countries. He’s led cross functional teams, here in India, and in Asia. He’s maverick and method– in equal doses. And we’ve known the energetic bandit in him for long.”

“And, to pre-empt obvious, related questions, we want to clarify that we both are going nowhere. The Womb is our second home…sometimes our first, even. Our involvement on clients’ businesses and brands will remain as committed. Anurag’s coming on board actually fortifies our client proposition even more. As always though, we would let the clients do our talking once they’ve experienced the collective power of this move. In fact, we’ve added even more leadership muscle to Anurag. In the coming days, we’ll announce more additions and structure to the leadership team from among the crouching tigers and hidden dragons within the company to get The Womb ready for 2.0,” the duo added.

Expressing his excitement on the new role, Gupta, CEO, The Womb Communications, added,
“I was drawn to join this remarkable company for two reasons: culture and an uncompromising commitment to clients’ business. Navin and Kawal have assembled a team with such infectious energy that it truly inspires you to be a part of it—I’m glad I followed my instincts. I’m excited about the prospect of learning and growing together with the team. Together, we are ready to write the next chapter of The Womb.”
