A Facebook showing the overburden on a BigBasket’s delivery boy has gone viral. The delivery guy can be seen bending forward due to the amount of weight he is carrying on his back. Saurabh Trivedi a Facebook user posted images of this guy and has shown his anger on the working conditions people have to face to earn money. On asking why he is carrying so much weight, the delivery boy replied that his earnings are based on the number of deliveries he does in a day. Below is the post we are talking about:

Here is the complete text he wrote :

Dear Bigbasket , Please see these pictures and think if this is the way one should treat it’s employees? Even the animals shouldn’t be treated like this. 5 days back, this delivery person came to my place. He came via bike carrying this huge bag, the temperature outside was around 43 degrees and the guy was literally bending forward due to the heavy weight of the order he was carrying on his back. He was sweating severely. He told me that his income is based on the number of order he delivers in a day and company is not concerned about their plight. Be it scortching heat, rain, storm or whatever, the company pays him only on the basis of total orders delivered and does not provide any assistance to improve their convenience for the same. Despite being a market leader and one of the most customer centric organization, it was highly unexpected to see your treatment towards your employees. You guys should be dealt with strong action under law. Friends please share it as much as possible.

He even tagged Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India and Ravi Shankar Prasad to look into this matter.

On seeing this, Facebook users were quick to share their views and the post has been shared more than 30 thousand times. Here are some of the comments users wrote:

Strong action should be taken

They’re humans too…

Big companies big shit

BigBasket replied to this post and asked about the order details.

Hello Saurabh, we are sorry to hear this, please inbox us your registered number or order ID we will get this highlighted, the company wrote.

To this, Saurabh denied to share details as he was concerned that delivery guy may lose his job.

BigBasket again commented on the post to write a positive reply and ensured to take some actions towards solving the issue.
