Marico Appoints Akash Banerji As EVP- Premium Personal Care, Media and Digital Transformation

Prior to joining Marico as EVP- Premium Personal Care, Media and Digital Transformation, Akash Banerji served as the Business Head- Tata Neu Super App for the past two years. Marico Appoints Akash Banerji As EVP- Premium Personal Care, Media and Digital Transformation

After being associated with Tata Digital as Business Head- Tata Neu Super App for the past two years, Akash Banerji has now joined Marico as EVP- Premium Personal Care, Media and Digital Transformation.

In his new role, he will be responsible for leading Male Grooming and Premium Hair Nourishment as part of overseeing certain Premium Personal Care brands and strengthening Media, Corporate & Brand Communications, and Digital Transformation.

That being said, this is his second stint with the FMCG major.

Prior to joining Tata Digital in March 2022, Banerji was the India Marketing Head- Amazon Prime Partnerships as Amazon for more than one-and-a-half years, starting September 2021.

Before that he served as SVP and Business Head- VOOT (now merged with JioCinema) and Viacom’s Premium OTT Business at Viacom18 Media from October 2015 to September 2020.

Between November 2008 and September 2015, he also worked with Star India (Star TV) across various roles ranging from Senior Manager Marketing, to AVP- Distribution and Special Projects (Middle East and Africa), AVP- Marketing for Star Sports Network’s Launch, and VP and Head Of Marketing- Digital Business at Hotstar (Launch).

In his earlier stint with Marico, which lasted for a period of more than four years, from September 2004 to November 2008, Banerji worked as Area Sales Manager in AP first and was elevated to the role of Brand Manager in April 2006.

He started his career as a Management Trainee (Account Development- Sales) at PepsiCo India in July 2003.
