Cadbury Ranked Top Media brand, Unilever Is Top Media Advertiser According To WARC Media 100 Report

The WARC Rankings Report for 2023, divided into Media, Creative, and Effective has brought forth some of the year’s best, in varied marketing functions.

The WARC Media 100 includes the world’s top 100 awarded campaigns for media, top 50 agencies, agency networks, brands, advertisers, countries, and top holding companies. Here is a quick look at the highlight of the Report that was released on 14th March 2023.

1. Top Country for Creativity- The USA

The USA emerged as the leader for the sixth time in a row. The country gave 14 campaigns that were ranked in the top 100, two of which made it to the Top 10.

The UK came second, followed by India claiming the third spot. The United Arab Emirates climbed ten spots, coming sixth and becoming the most improved country in terms of creativity.

2. Top advertiser for Media- Unilever

For the fourth year in a row, Unilever emerged victorious as the leading advertiser for media. 15 brands under the Unilever umbrella made it to the Top 100 and two brands- Dove and Lifebuoy were in the top 50.

Mondelez International witnessed a massive jump from 20th position to coming second this year.

Anheuser- Busch InBev with four brands- Corona, Vicky’s, Brahma, and Carling Black Label came third.

3. Top Media Brand- Cadbury

With four campaigns in the Top 100 for India and the UK, Cadbury was declared the Top brand for Media. It was ranked 45th last year.

Newbie SK-II, a skincare brand with its award-winning campaign- Versus came second, followed by Adidas on the third position.

4. Top holding Company for Media- WPP

The results in this category are pretty much the same as last year. WPP leads the list, followed by Omnicom Group. Interpublic Group ranks third.

The top seven holding companies are the same with the above-mentioned three companies retaining their positions for the sixth time in a row.

5. Top Network for Media- EssenceMediaCom

With 14 campaigns in the Top 100, this newly merged media agency tops the list of top networks for media. 6 agencies from the network have been ranked in the Top 50 with four in the Top 10.

PHD Worldwide claimed the second position with six agencies in the top 50 and nine campaigns in the top 100.

IPG Mediabrands is third, again with six agencies and 10 campaigns.

6. Top Agency for Media- EssenceMediaCom, New York

EssenceMediacom New York gave three campaigns that have been ranked in the top 100, which were made for brands like Ally and Walgreens, which were ranked took fourth and seventh place respectively.

Adidas’ liquid billboard campaign by Havas Dubai was a mind-blower, catapulting the agency straight into the second position.

PHD San Jose came third, climbing 22 spots from the last year.

7. Top Campaign for media: Break of Silence for INLesco by PHD San José

The most acknowledged campaign for media of 2022 is ‘Break of Silence’ for INLesco, a sign-language school in Costa Rica, created by PHD San Jose.

Adidas’ ‘Beyond the Surface – Liquid Billboard’, the world’s first swimmable billboard created by Havas Dubai was ranked second.

Third on the list is ‘Versus’ for skincare brand SK-II by EssenceMediacom Singapore / Grey Tokyo, which created an animated series, with each episode focussing social issues like
cyber trolling and beauty rules.
