How To Increase The Life Of The Bike That You Have Recently Purchased On A Loan For A Two-Wheeler?

Your two-wheeler does not run solely on fuel. It also necessitates adequate maintenance and the companionship of an experienced rider. You may seek guidance if you are new to the world of bikes and have recently purchased one on loan for a two-wheeler. To help you, we have put up a comprehensive guide to extending the life of your bike.

Top 10 Tips to Maintain Your Bike’s Health

1. Keep an Eye on Your Tyres
It is critical to inspect your motorcycle’s tyres frequently. The two most important things to check are air pressure and potential scrapes and cuts. Both underinflated and over-inflated tyres have the potential to cause fatal injury. Therefore, never overlook this key suggestion.

2. Regular Cleaning of Air Filters
If you live on the outskirts of a city or in a small village, you are likely to run into bad road conditions. It’s critical to keep an eye on your bike’s air filters under such circumstances. Dusty roads can quickly block the filter. As such, never forget to clean the air filters at regular intervals. Additionally, air filters have a limited lifespan. Replace them as soon as they reach their maximum span.

3. Maintain Battery
If you are thinking about getting a loan for a two-wheeler, whether new or second-hand, check out the reviews for the factory-installed battery. A battery is an important component that assists in smooth-riding. However, it, like other components, requires routine maintenance. Fill the battery with distilled water whenever it is needed. You should also look for any signs of battery leakage. In case you find one, have it repaired or replaced as soon as possible.

4. Regular cleaning of the surface
If your dream bike is purchased on loan for a two-wheeler, you do not want the lustre to fade owing to rust or scratches. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before you begin cleaning. When cleaning, make sure to cover the silencer, ignition switch unit, and high tension coil with plastic sheets. Furthermore, you should avoid parking your motorbike in direct sunlight. Long periods of exposure to the sun diminishes the appearance. It also causes the fuel to evaporate.

5. Engine Oil
If you are not happy with your bike’s performance, check the engine oil to see if that’s the problem. Engine oil is essential for your motorcycle’s flawless functioning. Monitor the engine oil level frequently and make sure it is always at the required level. You must also check if there is any oil leakage. It is crucial to know that riding your motorcycle on an unclean engine oil will only worsen the fuel burn. It also severely impacts the efficiency of your engine.

6. Strictly Adhere to Bike’s Manual
When you finance your bike, you must have used the bike EMI calculator, studied the fine print of your loan agreement, and asked the lender numerous questions. But how many times have you opened the bike’s manual after you have gotten your bike funded and ridden it home? Never! This is perhaps the biggest blunder that every bike owner makes. The manual includes information on service procedures, required air pressure, maximum vehicle weight, recommended fuel type, and more. It will be easier for you to keep the bike in good working order once you have read through the instructions.

7. Bike Insurance

Bike insurance is another important consideration for riders. It covers you financially in the event that your bike is stolen or damaged due to an accident, natural disaster, or other unforeseen circumstances. When you purchase bike insurance, you are relieved of the financial burden of paying for repairs and replacement costs for your bike and its components that arise as a result of preceding events.

8. Maintain Brakes
Always make sure that both brakes are appropriately aligned to hold the tyre in place. Brakes that are either overly tight or are loosely hung are quite risky. Brakes should be tailored to suit your needs while also providing a pleasant riding experience.

9. Maintain your speed
The speed at which you ride your bike also plays a part in maintaining the motorcycle’s health. If possible, keep your speed between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour. Doing so will assist in improving the bike’s mileage.

10. Clutch Adjustment
The clutch is a crucial part of your motorcycle. When riding a bike, make sure the clutch isn’t too tight. A tight clutch not only causes slippage but also reduces fuel efficiency. As such, it is recommended that you adjust your clutch at regular intervals.

To Conclude

Keep all of the above tips in mind whether you have purchased a new bike on a two-wheeler loan or are riding an old motorbike. The suggestions detailed above will assist you in keeping your bike in good working order.
