Hyundai Creta Named Most Popular Car As Per Droom’s ‘India Automobile E-commerce Report’ For 2022

Droom, which is a leading automobile e-commerce platform in India, released its annual report on ‘India Automobile E-commerce’ for Calendar Year (CY) 2022.

As per the report shared by the tech company, while the SUVs were the most-bought segment, Hyundai Creta was the most popular car of the year.

Hyundai Creta was followed by Kia Seltos taking the second spot and Brezza, Toyota Innova Crysta, and Toyota Fortuner followed on the remaining 5 spots.

As for Bikes, Bajaj Pulsar took the lead followed by Hero Splendor Plus, Bajaj Pulsar NS, TVS Apache RTR, and Honda CB Shine. In Scooters, Honda Activa 5G was the most popular followed by Suzuki Access, TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa 5G, and Honda Dio.

The sale of luxury cars was highest on average with the Mercedes Benz E-Class taking the lead amongst all others. Jeep Compass was the second most popular luxury car for the year followed by the Mercedes Benz C-Class, BMS 5 Series, and BMW X1.

Looking at the popularity of cars on the basis of transmission type, manual cars had a 67% share of the entire market while automatic cars witnessed a 33% share.

Moreover, Diesel cars were highly popular in 2022 with 53% of the total cars sold.

Commenting on Droom’s annual automobile trend report CY 2022, Sandeep Aggarwal, Founder, and CEO, Droom said that the automobile trend report of 2022 shows steady growth in the overall automobile market. He also said that the report indicates an increasing acceptance of online automobile buying and this will only grow in the coming years. He believes that there is also a gradual but steady adoption of electric vehicles which will expand in the coming future.

Droom is one of the largest transactional platforms that compiles data and findings and presents insightful and interesting analysis reports stated Aggarwal in his statement.
