Imagine having to drive a variety of supercars in different countries around the world! Sounds like a dream job, right? Well, if there’s anyone who has made it big by doing so, is none other than Alexandra Mary Hirschi a.k.a. Supercar Blondie, one of the biggest stars on social media.
An Australian citizen with a degree in journalism, Alexandra moved to Dubai, when she accepted her job as a newsreader and radio show presenter. After having worked for 9 years, she put her passion for cars, and skills acquired over the years to brilliant use and became a full-time content creator. Having worked hard to build a name for herself in a field that mostly comprises of men reviewing automobiles, she struck a chord with not just the masses, but even the car experts!
But this journey wasn’t easy for her. She managed to get attention only after reaching a base of 60,000 followers. She is fond of giving her personal touch to her mean machines, in an attempt to stand out from the crowd. And though there have been a number of cars she has ridden; her personal favorite has been the custom-blue Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4.
She doesn’t keep her cars for long though and prefers selling them to make way for new ones too. In fact, she even sold her Valentine’s Day gift from her husband- a Ferrari 488 Italia.
Using just about all social media tools, Supercar Blondie has a massive number of followers, on Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook. She posts stories and pictures in front of some gorgeous cars, on all her handles, and focuses on high-level overviews that appeal to the masses. Instead of reviewing the car from a technical perspective, she shares her experiences on driving it, focusing on the visual appeal. Luxury automotive brands like Bugatti and Ferrari, advertise through her.
In a bid to keep her content interesting, and the visuals appealing, Alex matches her outfits with the car and overall plot. Because of her work, she has appeared in many famous magazines like Forbes, Maxim, GQ and Esquire. She credits a major share of her success to her living in Dubai, where supercars are seen more often.
“The best thing about driving supercars is the way it makes me feel. It’s so much fun that I often find myself laughing behind the wheel,” says Alex, who has come a long way, from driving a Mitsubishi Lancer to now driving top and exclusive supercars!
