Top 5 Cars Under Rs 10 Lakhs To Look Out For In 2020

The automobile industry in India has been struggling amidst the economic slowdown in the nation. Low demand leading to lower sales has not only impacted profits but also jobs. However, the industry plans to make 2020 its turnaround year, launching budget cars to boost demand.

Wondering which brands are launching the best models in economical prices, check the list below –

1) Tata is back with a bang

Tata has announced to launch a premium hatchback in 2020 which will find itself competing against successful models like Hyundai i20. It will be launched in January itself, cost approximately 8.5 lakhs.

It will provide a great value for money in terms of top-notch safety features, two engine options, LED DRLs and adjustable seats. After the not so great journey of Tata Nano, this is Tata’s latest venture to tap into the middle-class customer base of India.

2) Maruti Suzuki won’t give up

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been a successful venture by the brand since 2016. However, due to the latest norms, Maruti Suzuki will withdraw the diesel engine in the car and launch the brand new petrol version towards the end of this year.

3) Hyundai is here to shine

Hyundai will be launching a replacement for its Xcent model by putting Hyundai Aura in the limelight. A sedan with R15 Diamond cut alloy wheels, Wireless charger, fog lamp and LED tail lamps, it understands the needs of the new world w.r.t pollution, digitalization, and precaution. It is rumoured to be priced anywhere between 6-9 lakhs.

4) Honda going for the new

Towards the end of 2019, Honda revealed the fifth-generation Honda city in Thailand and its India Launch is expected this year. The sedan has become more spacious than previous models and has four variants available in Thailand as of now.

Additional features like speed sensing auto door lock, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a possible turbo engine make the car highly anticipated amongst Indian car lovers.

5) Renault takes a step forward

Renault will come up with Triber AMT in the first month of 2020 as well. It would be a 7-seater model giving a mileage of 20.5 kmpl, power steering and engine displacement of 999cc. It is expected to be priced at approximately 7 lakhs, a steal deal indeed.

It must be noted that all these cars are expected to follow the latest Bharat Stage VI norms which are to be implemented in India from April 2020. Moreover, with prices below 10 lakhs, these models are going to give tough competition to multiple existing models.

Mother Dairy is targeting a 20% increase in revenue to over Rs 24,000 crore in FY27, backed by rising consumer demand and plans to expand into new markets, according to media reports. As per media reports, the dairy major recorded a turnover of Rs 20,300 crore in FY26, up 17% year-on-year. The company has more than doubled its revenue over the last five years, crossing the Rs 20,000-crore milestone. As part of its growth strategy, Mother Dairy is looking to strengthen its presence outside Delhi-NCR. Chairman Meenesh Shah said the company is exploring entry into new markets where it currently has limited or no presence. The company is also setting up a dairy plant in Maharashtra, has leased a facility in Hyderabad, and is establishing a second plant in Bihar. Managing Director Jayateertha Chary said sales in the first two months of the fiscal have been encouraging, with ice cream emerging as a strong-performing category. Reports also suggest that from Mother Dairy’s FY26 turnover, the dairy business contributed more than Rs 15,000 crore, while edible oils and horticulture accounted for around Rs 5,000 crore. Around 63% of revenue came from Delhi-NCR, with the remainder generated from other parts of the country. The company currently reaches more than 95 cities across India and operates nine milk processing plants, four horticulture processing plants and 16 associated edible oil facilities.
