Marketing Strategies Using Which Xiaomi Sold 2 million Mi TVs in India

Xiaomi is winning Indian smartphone market with big margins. The company has won the heart of Indian customers due to selling quality products at affordable prices. It looks like Xiaomi is not going to stop as the company is coming with new products like Mi Trimmer which we wrote about just a few days ago. Today, we are talking about the strategies that helped Xiaomi to sell over 2 million Mi TVs in India in a time span of just over 15 months. Have a look:

No brand or product can achieve big success without quality. Like smartphones, Xiaomi made sure that they provide TVs with innovative features available at affordable prices.

Educating The concept of smart TVs

Smart TVs are still new in India as compared to other markets. What Xiaomi did well was promoting smart TVs in a way that they look very easy to use. To educate Indian audience, Xiaomi launched advertising campaigns that helped in increasing awareness about Mi LED TV and its smart features.

Using right medium to advertise

Xiaomi mainly focused on TV watching audience and featured celebs who can target all age groups. For example, Xiaomi has recently chosen Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai’s famed on-screen couple Sahil (Sumeet Raghavan) and Monisha (Rupali Ganguly) instead of youth icons for their latest campaign. The campaigns have been family focussed giving the message that Mi TVs are for everyone.
