Check Out Forbes Top 10 Richest Indians List 2018

Forbes’s has released its annual list of India’s 100 richest people and for the 11th straight year, Mukesh Ambani has topped the list with a net worth of $47.3 billion.

It is interesting to know that the combined net worth of the 100 wealthiest individuals grew by only 2.7 percent to $492 billion from $479 billion in 2017. The 2018 list has 5 newcomers and 8 dropouts. The new faces include Krishna Kumar Bangur at rank 91, Sridhar Vembu of Zoho at rank 96, Tarang Jain rank 95. Also, only 4 women managed to get a place on the list.

“In a challenging year, which saw the rupee taking a tumble, the country’s 100 richest collectively managed to hold their own. Moreover, new billionaires continue to be minted, which indicates that India’s entrepreneurial energy is upbeat as ever,”

said Naazneen Karmali, India Editor of Forbes Asia.

1. Mukesh Ambani: $47.3 Billion

Mukesh Ambani added $9.3 billion to his wealth because of the continuing success of his telecom company Reliance Jio.

2. Azim Premji: $21 Billion

Azim Premji retained his number two spot on the list by adding $ 2 billion to his net worth

3. Lakshmi Mittal: $18.3 Billion

Company: (ArcelorMittal)
Lakshmi Mittal climbed one spot to number 3, with his wealth rising to $18.3 billion from $16.5 billion in 2017.

4. Hinduja brothers: $18 Billion

Company: (Ashok Leyland)
Hinduja brothers of Ashok Leyland dropped one rank to number four this year, with their combined wealth falling marginally from $18.4 billion last year.

5. Pallonji Mistry: $15.7 Billion

Company: (Pallonji Group)
Pallonji Mistry’s net-worth declined slightly to $15.7 billion in 2018 from $16 billion in 2017.

6. Shiv Nadar Shapoorji: $14.6 Billion

Company: (HCL Technologies)

7. Godrej family: $14 Billion

Company: (Godrej Group)

8. Dilip Shanghvi: $12.6 Billion

Company: (Sun Pharmaceutical Industries)

9. Kumar Birla: $12.5 Billion

Company: (Aditya Birla Group)

10. Gautam Adani: $11.9 Billion

Company: (Adani Ports & SEZ)

The minimum amount required to enter the list this year was $1.48 billion, a very little increase from last year’s $1.46 billion.
