The Market Research Society of India (MRSI) has officially announced that B.V. Pradeep will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming 7th Golden Key Awards. Scheduled to take place on March 6, 2026 in Mumbai, the ceremony will celebrate his four decades of exceptional contributions to the market research and insights sector.
Throughout his illustrious career, Pradeep has been a defining force in elevating market research from a traditional support role into a core, strategic business function on both a domestic and global scale.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Pradeep dedicated nearly three decades to key leadership roles at Unilever, operating across Indian and international markets. He is widely credited with championing consumer-centricity and laying the structural foundation that formally transformed the market research function into the modern Consumer and Market Insights (CMI) discipline.
His forward-thinking approach led to the conceptualisation and scaling of several insight-led methodologies that are now considered global best practices. By revolutionising sensory research and brand equity measurement in the 1990s, alongside developing complex behaviour change models, he fundamentally redefined how organisations translate psychological insights into highly actionable business strategies.
Beyond his profound corporate impact, Pradeep has been a vital architect of the global research ecosystem. He has consistently played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s standing within the international market research community. His leadership footprint extends across several respected industry bodies, having served on the Governing Council of ESOMAR as Vice President and Treasurer.
Domestically, his leadership includes serving as the President of MRSI from 1999 to 2005, acting as the Chairperson of the Joint Technical Committee for Television Audience Measurement, and serving as a Governing Council Member of the Media Research Users Council. Today, he continues to drive the industry forward through his consultancy, Catalyst-4ur-Growth.
The Lifetime Achievement Award serves as a benchmark of recognition within the MRSI ecosystem, designed to honour the vital role of insights professionals. Pradeep was selected for this accolade by a highly distinguished jury panel chaired by C K Sharma, Former Strategic Consultant and Principal at Gallup.
The panel featured other prominent industry veterans, including Chandan Mukherji of Nestlé India, Manish Makhijani of RSPL, Dr Meena Kaushik of Quantum Consumer Solutions, and Prasun Basu of Inteliphyle.
The 7th Golden Key Awards will continue MRSI’s tradition of highlighting excellence, innovation, and leadership, cementing the indispensable value of the professionals who power the global research and insights industry.
Nitin Kamat, Chief Growth and Partnerships Officer, TAM Media Research and President at Market Research Society of India, said, “B.V. Pradeep’s contribution goes far beyond methodologies and frameworks; he shaped mindsets and expanded the horizon for the sector’s growth beyond FMCG.”
“His work placed consumers at the heart of organisations and elevated insights as a strategic growth lever. He has also played a critical role in shaping MRSI’s position and we are truly honoured to recognise his unparalleled legacy with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Key Awards.” he added.
Paru Minocha, Managing Director, Qualitative Head, APAC at Kantar, and Committee Chair for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 7th Golden Key Awards, added, “B.V. Pradeep’s contribution to the research and insights industry cannot be measured.
