Palki Sharma Quits Firstpost

Palki Sharma has stepped down as the Managing Editor of Firstpost, where she has overseen editorial direction, news strategy, and content leadership.

Marketing Mind has learnt from highly placed sources that Sharma’s departure has been confirmed internally. Sources have also indicated that she has been preparing to start an independent venture, though details around the nature and timeline of the initiative have not yet been disclosed.

Sharma has served as Managing Editor at Network18 Media and Investments from September 2022, where she has led editorial decision-making and newsroom strategy. She has simultaneously worked with iTV Network as an Anchor and Senior Editor since January 2023.

Earlier, she has held the role of Managing Editor at WION (World Is One News) from March 2017 to January 2023 in Noida, overseeing global news coverage and international editorial strategy.

Before that, she has spent nearly 11 years at CNN-IBN (CNN-News18) from May 2005 to March 2016 as Anchor and Senior Editor, where she has anchored major news shows, interviewed prominent political and cultural figures, managed breaking news coverage, edited international reports, and led digital and social media-driven audience initiatives.

She has also worked as a Staff Writer at Hindustan Times from 2004 to 2005, covering social, civic, and film-related stories, and began her career as a News Anchor at Doordarshan News from 2002 to 2005, where she has hosted national and regional broadcasts and written current affairs content.
