Chandan Das has stepped down as Director – Digital & TV Revenue Generation, South at JioStar, concluding over 11 years in strategic and revenue-driven roles across leading media networks.
He announced this move via a linkedin post.
Das joined JioStar in January 2025 as Associate Director – Digital & TV Revenue Generation for the South region and was elevated to Director from April 2025. In this role, he led digital and TV revenue at the JioStar network, monetising key assets including BigBoss, Star Parivar Awards, Hotstar Originals, World TV premiers, and regular OTT and TV channel inventories across all markets. He built and managed a skilled team to deliver tailored media solutions and ensure flawless execution.
Before JioStar, Das spent over 10 years at Disney Star in senior leadership positions. From November 2023 to January 2025, he served as Region Head – South, managing ad sales for Star Jalsha, Jalsha Movies, and Star Kiran channels. Between November 2022 and November 2023, he was Regional Head, overseeing the South Region advertising business for Star Plus and Disney Kids channels, handling a 250 crore business portfolio. From June 2019 to October 2022, he managed the East region business for Star TV Pay Hindi GEC channels, including Star Plus and Star Bharat, with a 100 crore portfolio per annum.
Earlier at Disney Star, Das was Group Head from July 2018 to June 2019, managing the Hindi Movies genre (Star Gold SD & HD, Movies OK, Star Utsav Movies, Star Gold Select) and Bengali regionals (Star Jalsha & Jalsha Movies) advertising business of 60 crore for East corporate clients. Between January 2017 and June 2018, he handled ad sales for corporate accounts, including the same channels, managing key client relationships and campaign execution. From August 2014 to December 2016, he led ad sales for key strategic accounts, acquiring new clients and implementing revenue-generating campaigns in Kolkata.
Prior to Disney Star, Das worked with HT Media as Assistant Manager from September 2013 to August 2014 in Kolkata, driving client servicing, BTL activities, event management, marketing alliances, and developing new business opportunities. He also spent time at Info Edge India Ltd from February 2012 to September 2013 as Assistant Manager, managing online property solutions, revenue generation, client relationships, and market analysis. He was Senior Executive – Corporate Sales from February 2012 to March 2013, responsible for lead generation, client acquisition, marketing strategies, and sales reporting.
