If we say that male and female athletes earn the same amount of money from their matches and brand endorsements, it will be wrong. However, female athletes still make a lot of money which comes from different sources including salaries, prize money, bonuses, endorsements, appearances fees. Forbes has shared a list of top 10 highest-paid female athletes between June 2017 and June 2018. Have a look:

10. Angelique Kerber: $7 million

Endorsements: $4 million

Brands associated: Adidas, Porsche, Rolex, SAP and Yonex.

She also made $3.3 million for winning Wimbledon last month, after the counting period.

9. Danica Patrick: $7.5 million

Endorsements: $4.5 million

The most successful female race car driver started a clothing brand Warrior by Danica Patrick, and authored the fitness book Pretty Intense last year.

8. Simona Halep:$7.7 million

Endorsements: $1.5 million

Her deal with Adidas ended in 2017 and she wore a dress designed by herself in the Australian Open final to promote her brand. Nike signed her for a multiyear deal.

It is interesting that the only non-tennis players in the top 10 are P.V. Sindhu and Danica Patrick.
