Walmart is facing criticism due to “Impeach 45” apparel, the clothing company was selling a line of adult t-shirts and baby onesies with slogans which call for the impeachment of United States President Donald Trump. These shirts were noticed by Ryan Fournier, a President Trump supporter, and advocate, who shared the photo on Twitter. As a result, supporters of President Trump are calling for a boycott of Walmart which has 5,000 stores in the U.S.

Why are you selling Impeach 45 baby clothes on your website? What kind of message are you trying to send? Ryan Fournier wrote on Twitter and tagged the official account of Walmart.

.@walmart why are you selling Impeach 45 baby clothes on your website?????

What kind of message are you trying to send? https://t.co/PwI4nCVAZx

This tweet has been retweeted more than 8,000 times, and other users expressed their anger for the shirts. After people got to know that Walmart has multiple items for sale with the slogan, including the baby outfit noticed by Fournier, a #BoycottWalmart hashtag began trending on Twitter.

I am joining the #BoycottWalmart.

I am joining the #BoycottWalmart over selling impeach trump merchandise.

Donald Trump has legal standings to sue Walmart

So many reasons to boycott Walmart.

Walmart exploits its own workers who toil for minimum wage and have limited access to affordable health care. It uses sweatshops overseas and destroys the environment. Maybe both liberals and conservatives can come together on this one thing. We should all #BoycottWalmart.

Some supported Walmart in their tweets:

Me walking into a Walmart hoping that the lines are shorter because people are in their feelings about a shirt that I actually agree with!

I feel like the people who #BoycottWalmart are the same people who buy their clothes from Walmart.

— Ryan Armstrong (@Armsrc30) July 3, 2018

Go ahead, tweet about how you're going to #BoycottWalmart over a shirt; but you know you're still going to shop there in this economy. ????????‍♀️

…That is unless you're able to look past Target's restroom policy that you probably also said you'd boycott.

— Katherine Isabella Moon (@mheowing) July 3, 2018

#BoycottWalmart is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Scrolling through people’s tweets to see they’re more upset about a T-shirt then they were about the children being snatched at the border really says a lot about this country. @Walmart ur doing great sweetie

— Leila i guess (@kindasortaleila) July 3, 2018

Walmart finally came up with a reply and decided to remove these items as it was against their policies. “These items were sold by third-party sellers on our open marketplace and were not offered directly by Walmart. We’re removing these types of items pending review of our marketplace policies,” Walmart wrote.
