SPNI’s General Counsel Ashok Nambissan & CFO Nitin Nadkarni To Retire In August

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the retirement of General Counsel, Ashok Nambissan and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Nitin Nadkarni, effective August 31, 2024.

Nadkarni joined SPNI in 2005 and he has been in leadership roles where he was driving the financial mandate and leading strategic financial initiatives for SPNI globally. As the CFO, Head of Broadcast Operations and Network Engineering (BONE), and Head of Commercial Nadkarni was responsible for optimising SPNI’s commercial operations, and driving profitability through innovative strategies and management skills. He has been responsible for guiding SPNI on its sustainability journey, implementing numerous initiatives to achieve a zero environmental footprint by 2050.

Nadkarni has over four decades of experience in the financial sector and has extensive expertise across industries like engineering, specialty chemicals, and media and entertainment.

On the other hand, Nambissan has been a part of SPNI since 2007, and has played a crucial role in shaping its legal and regulatory framework and ensuring compliance across all operations. He oversaw the Corporate Relations, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, and Standards and Practices functions for SPNI’s businesses in India. Nadkarni was instrumental in significant achievements such as renegotiating IPL rights and acquiring Ten Sports.

Nadkarni said, “Working alongside the leadership team at SPNI has been an enriching experience.
