Zee Entertainment Enterprises (Z) has recorded over 100 million viewers across its digital, linear and social platforms during the opening weekend of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The company has stated that its digital platform Zee5 has garnered nearly 6 million viewers during the opening weekend of the tournament. According to the company, the viewership has reflected engagement across FIFA World Cup content available on the platform.
Z has also generated more than 360 million views across social media platforms during the opening weekend. Its ‘#Watchega’ campaign has reached over 330 million users, contributing to awareness and engagement around the tournament.
Zee5 has hosted millions of concurrent users between June 11 and June 14, 2026, while recording more than 190 minutes of average viewer engagement for live matches and the inaugural ceremony. The platform has streamed live matches, highlights and studio programming throughout the period.
The company’s sports channels, Unite8 Sports, have delivered coverage of the tournament across television platforms and have estimated a reach of over 25 million households across India.
To support tournament viewership, Zee5 has complemented live match coverage with studio shows, expert analysis and multi-language commentary. The company has also partnered with public viewing operators for match screenings and has conducted fan park experiences and on-ground activations across multiple cities.
With several key matches scheduled in the coming weeks, the company has indicated that viewership is expected to grow further as the FIFA World Cup 2026 progresses.
