Homegrown OTT platform ULLU is reportedly in advanced discussions to sell its streaming business to an international buyer, in a deal that could include its content library, intellectual property and digital infrastructure.
According to sources familiar with the matter, multiple overseas companies have expressed interest in the acquisition, including FAIRADMEDIA, Incredible Digital World and Algorithm Verse. Entertainment companies from Singapore, the United States and Australia are also said to be evaluating the opportunity.
If the transaction goes through, the proposed deal would encompass ULLU’s entire OTT ecosystem, including its technology stack, backend infrastructure and rights to its catalogue of original content. The move is expected to help the platform unlock international growth opportunities and reposition itself with a stronger global focus.
Founded in 2018, ULLU carved out a niche in India’s streaming market through its bold and unconventional storytelling, building a sizeable audience base, particularly across tier-2 and tier-3 markets. The platform currently operates in more than 122 international markets, where its multilingual catalogue of original series and films has helped cultivate a loyal overseas viewership.
Should the discussions culminate in a transaction, the deal could rank among the more significant mergers and acquisitions in India’s OTT landscape, reflecting growing international interest in Indian digital entertainment assets.
