Think9 has acquired Whoppl and has launched Nova9, a new unit aimed at building culture-led brand storytelling systems. The move has brought together Whoppl’s creator-focused capabilities with Think9’s brand strategy expertise to expand its marketing ecosystem.
The acquisition has aligned with Think9’s broader push to strengthen its presence in the digital marketing space. The company has been building a portfolio of consumer ventures and marketing solutions, and this development has added a new vertical focused on content, creators, and cultural insights.
Nova9 has been positioned as a unit that integrates creative strategy, platform-native content, and data-driven insights. It has been designed to help brands respond to evolving digital conversations and build narratives suited to online communities.
The unit has also been expected to expand its team across roles such as cultural strategists, content creators, and data analysts. It has aimed to combine storytelling with real-time cultural signals to support brand communication.
Whoppl, founded in 2019, has been operating in content creation, influencer marketing, and social commerce. The company has worked with brands to build digital engagement through creator networks and content-led strategies.
Nova9 has also been set to collaborate with Think9’s platform, The Foundery, which connects founders, operators, and investors to build consumer brands. Ramya Ramachandran has been expected to take on a leadership role in shaping the new unit’s direction.
Santosh Desai, Co-Founder, Think9 Consumer Technologies and CEO, Futurebrands India, commented, “The launch of Nova9 marks a significant shift in how brands will approach digital marketing, moving beyond campaign-based communication toward culture-led narrative ecosystems that are native to platforms and communities.“
“Nova9 will expand its capabilities by hiring across multiple disciplines, including cultural strategists, creative storytellers, meme and community specialists, platform-native content strategists, and AI data analysts focused on real-time cultural signals. The goal is to build a multidisciplinary team capable of decoding culture and translating it into high-impact brand narratives.” Desai added.
Ramya Ramachandran, Founder and CEO, Whoppl, said: “Over the past few years, we’ve seen a fundamental shift in how brands earn attention, moving from broadcasting messages to building stories that people want to engage with and co-create. At Whoppl, we built a creator-powered ecosystem designed for this new reality. Partnering with Think9 allows us to scale that vision exponentially. With Nova9, we are building a culture-first storytelling engine that enables brands to move at the speed of the internet, creating narratives that are not just seen, but shared, remixed, and lived.”
