Schbang Umma Saini Joins PhonePe As Director – Creative & Content

Umma Saini has joined PhonePe as Director – Creative & Content, effective August 2025. 

Prior to PhonePe, she was Chief Creative Officer at Schbang from December 2023 to August 2025, where she led creative strategy and content innovation across key campaigns. From May 2018 to October 2021, she served as Brand & Creative Lead for Google India, driving large-scale integrated campaigns and strengthening the brand’s presence in the country.

Earlier in her career, she worked with BBDO, first as Creative Director at BBDO Singapore from June 2017 to March 2018, and then as Creative Director at BBDO India from August 2015 to April 2017. She was promoted as Creative Group Head at BBDO India in 2014 after serving as Creative Supervisor at Ogilvy & Mather between 2012 and 2014. She started her advertising journey at Saints and Warriors in 2006 as a Copywriter before moving to Ogilvy, where she spent over four years in creative roles.

Over the years, Saini has helped shape some of the most memorable campaigns, including Ariel’s globally recognised #ShareTheLoad. Her work has earned widespread recognition, picking up awards at Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD, Effies, Spikes Asia, and more.
