Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has appointed Sanjay Jamuar as the first Chief Executive Officer of Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), a newly formed entity aimed at expanding metro expertise beyond the national capital and into global markets.
DMIL has been set up with government support to underta5tr6rrke metro projects and provide Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services across India and internationally. The company will also offer advisory support to transit authorities and financial institutions, helping shape long-term urban mobility plans.

Jamuar, a former Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, brings decades of experience spanning Indian Railways, DMRC, and international assignments across the UK, USA, France, the Middle East, and Europe. Notably, he was DMRC’s first O&M employee when he joined the organisation in 1998. He holds a postgraduate diploma in strategic leadership from Warwick Business School, UK, and has conducted research in transport economics at Leeds University.
Most recently, he served as Managing Director at Keolis India Private Limited from March 2025 to April 2026. Prior to this, he held multiple senior leadership roles within Keolis Group between 2017 and 2024, including Project Director – Business Development & Bids (2020–2024), Managing Director (2018–2020), Bid Director (2017–2018), and Senior Rail Operations Expert. During his tenure, he played a key role in driving global transit projects, bid strategy, and operational excellence.
Earlier, Jamuar was associated with R&I Consulting as Business Owner from 2013 to 2017, alongside a stint as Director of Business Development (Contract) at Network Rail Consulting between 2013 and 2014. His earlier roles at Network Rail include Programme Manager between 2008 to 2012 and Development Manager from 2006 to 2008, where he worked on large-scale rail infrastructure and modernization initiatives.
In India, Jamuar held key positions within Indian Railways and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. He served as Director Traffic Transportation at Indian Railways between 2003 to 2004 and earlier as Deputy General Manager at DMRC (1998–2003), where he was among the first operations and maintenance professionals. He began his career with Indian Railways as Divisional Operations Manager from 1989 to 1998, building a strong foundation in rail operations and management.
