Then & Now: Old And New Logos Of World’s Most Popular Brands

Logos hold an important place in the marketing world. Most of the people recognise a brand with its logo and in this changing world, logo trends have transformed completely. Brands know this fact and to cope with the interest of the audience, they change their logos in a way that the basic design remains same still it looks updated and fresh. it has become The world is constantly changing. Below are some examples of how popular brands have changed their logos since their inception.

1. Apple

Apple is world’s most famous and trusted brand right now and its first logo actually had the fruit Apple which led scientist Issac Newton to discover gravity.

The current logo was designed in 1998, on the proposal of Steve Jobs.

2. Mozilla Firefox

The second most used browser online, Mozilla Firefox had its very first logo with the name Phoenix, but later it was changed because there was already a company with a trademark on Phoenix.

3. Google


Google’s first logo was designed by Sergey Brin, with a free graphics program called GIMP. The logo has been getting simplified every year since then.

4. Amazon

World’s biggest e-commerce organisation Amazon started as a bookstore and its growth can be imagined by knowing that Jeff Bezos the founder is now the richest man on earth with a big margin. its initial logo had a giant A with a winding river cutting. The current logo represents that Amazon has A to Z items for buyers online.

5. Coca-Cola

Started in 1886, the official logo of Coca-Cola was very different and the company is known for changing its logos from time to time.

6. Microsoft

Microsoft has made its logo completely minimal in design and one can clearly see this in the below image.

7. Nike

The Nike Swoosh is present from the starting days, Nike used to include its name with the Swoosh but it has changed a bit in shape.

8. Pepsi


Pepsi’s very first logo was a red script on white. Later, a red, white and blue round bottle cap to their design in 1950 which was used in the logo also.

9. Canon


Canon’s original logo was very different from what we see today. It is believed that a depiction of the Buddhist’s Goddess of Mercy sitting on a lotus flower was used in the first logo. In 1956 the logo we see today was designed.
