Nature’s Basket has appointed Lakshman Kandarpa as its Chief Operating Officer. In his new role, he has taken charge of leading the overall business operations of the gourmet retail chain and has been responsible for driving growth, strengthening operational efficiency and supporting the company’s expansion plans in the coming years.

Prior to joining Nature’s Basket, Kandarpa has served as Chief Operating Officer at SAVOmart from February 2025 to April 2026, based in Bengaluru. Before that, he had been associated with MedPlus Health Services as Chief Retail Officer from December 2020 to January 2025 in Hyderabad.
Earlier, he had worked with More Retail as Chief Operating Officer from January 2016 to November 2020 in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Before More Retail, he had spent nearly nine years at Aditya Birla Retail across multiple leadership roles between March 2007 and January 2016.
At Aditya Birla Retail, he had served as Assistant Vice President – Circle Director from July 2014 to January 2016 in the Greater Hyderabad Area. During this tenure, he had also received the Chairman’s Distinguished Achiever Award in 2014 from Kumar Mangalam Birla. Prior to this, he had worked as Senior General Manager – Circle Head from July 2011 to June 2014 in Hyderabad, where he had contributed to business strategy implementation and market growth initiatives.
He had also held the position of General Manager from April 2010 to July 2011, where he had led operations as Circle Head for Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, he had served as Deputy General Manager from March 2007 to April 2010 and had handled responsibilities as Zonal Business Head – Karnataka and Regional Head – Operational Excellence at Aditya Birla Retail.
Before joining Aditya Birla Retail, Kandarpa had worked with Future Group India as Senior Manager from 2001 to 2007 in Bengaluru. During his stint, he had led the New Store Venture Team for South India and had been involved in identifying, finalising and launching Big Bazaar stores across the region. He had also contributed as a domain consultant for retail operations during the group’s SAP rollout and had earlier managed Big Bazaar operations in Hyderabad.
He had started his retail career with Arvind Brands, where he had worked as Retail Sales Executive from April 1997 to May 2001 and had managed Arrow stores along with key accounts including Shoppers Stop and Lifestyle. Prior to that, he had worked as Duty Manager at Wimpy @ The Country Club in Hyderabad from May 1994 to May 1997, where he had led a 24-member team for the international fast food chain’s operations.
