Online food delivery companies have become a common part of our lifestyle. The industry has grown tremendously over the years and has even opened up many job opportunities.
The delivery partners of the company face a lot of struggles on a regular basis. There have been many instances recorded and uploaded on social media that show their hardships.
Of course not everyone is struggling or is unhappy with the job, however, a majority of these delivery executives are going through a difficult time and are just trying to make some earning.
The delivery executives sometimes come across generosity from their customers that bring them to tears of joy. A recent interaction between a customer and a delivery executive has gone viral on social media.
Sha Davis took to Facebook to share this experience he had with the delivery man who was on his way to deliver his order.
As an honest mistake, Davis had placed an online order from a restaurant but had accidentally put in the wrong delivery address. However, it was the chat with the delivery partner that is worth reading.
The delivery partner had arrived at the location which was apparently his previous address. In the chat, Davis explained to the driver that he longer lives in Iowa, where his address was saved. He then asked the driver to take the food with him and enjoy it since he couldn’t, to make up for his mistake and for wasting the delivery driver’s time.
In the screenshot, we can see the driver thanking Davis and revealing an emotional angle to the story. The chat shows Davis saying, “So I forgot to change my address on my chipotle app so I told the driver to keep it because the old address is back in Iowa. I was deadass mad at first but after reading this I’m happy this happened!”
The post has since gone viral and people are appreciating Sha’s gesture to compensate for an honest mistake.
