State-run energy major Indian Oil Corporation has elevated Manish Malik to the role of Executive Director (AI-ML), marking another milestone in his more than three-decade-long journey with the company and its associated businesses.
Malik took to LinkedIn to announce his new role.
Prior to this elevation, Malik served as Executive Director (Information Systems) at Indian Oil Corporation from January 2025 to May 2026, after leading the company’s IT operations as IT Head for the Marketing Division in Mumbai from May 2021 to January 2025.
Before rejoining Indian Oil’s Marketing Division leadership, Malik was associated with Ratnagiri Refinery and Petrochemicals as General Manager (IT) & IT Head from March 2018 to July 2020.
His earlier stint with Indian Oil Corporation’s Marketing Division spanned nearly five years in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. During this period, he held multiple leadership roles including General Manager (IT) & IT Infrastructure Head from February 2017 to February 2018, and DGM (IT) & Software Group Head from May 2013 to January 2017.
Malik also served at Indian Oil Corporation’s Corporate Office as Chief Manager (IT) & SAP Techno-Functional Lead from May 2002 to April 2013.
He began his long association with Indian Oil Corporation’s Marketing Division as Manager (IS), a role he held from August 1996 to April 2002, after starting his career with the company as Assistant Manager from February 1992 to July 1996.
With extensive experience across IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, software operations and digital transformation, Malik’s elevation comes as Indian Oil continues to strengthen its focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning-led transformation initiatives.
