Hero MotoCorp has appointed Sachin Agrawal as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective May 21, 2026. In this role, he will lead the company’s R&D operations across the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology and the Hero Tech Centre Germany. His responsibilities include driving technology development in areas such as next-generation mobility, electrification, and alternative fuel systems.
Agrawal brings over 29 years of experience in automotive research and development, with a focus on product engineering, powertrain systems, electric mobility, and digital technologies. Before joining Hero MotoCorp, he served as Executive Vice President and Head of R&D and Technology at VE Commercial Vehicles, where he led global engineering operations and worked on multiple technology-led innovations.
He began his career at Daewoo Motors, contributing to the development of the Matiz chassis in South Korea. Over the years, his work has spanned diesel, CNG, electric, and hydrogen platforms, with involvement in end-to-end product development and integration of emerging technologies such as connected mobility, AI-driven systems, and software-defined vehicle architectures.
Agrawal has also held industry roles, including serving as Chairperson of the SIAM Frontier Technology and Innovation Group, and has led the Volvo Group’s Global Center of Excellence for medium-duty engine development. His experience combines technical development with large-scale team leadership, particularly in building engineering capabilities and advancing technology-led programs within the automotive sector.
