Havas has announced the acquisition of Format through Havas Paris, in a move aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation corporate influence communications.
Founded in 2021 by Thomas Khaski, Format operates at the intersection of media relations, social platforms, creator ecosystems and editorial content production. Havas said the acquisition comes at a time when companies and executives are increasingly building owned communication channels, while creators and social media platforms continue to reshape information flows.
As part of the transaction, Format will retain its brand name, organisational structure and autonomous operating model. Khaski will continue as CEO of the agency, while the Format team will also join H/Advisors, Havas’ global strategic communications advisory network present across more than 20 countries.
Havas Paris said the acquisition would strengthen its capabilities in digital influence and strategic corporate communications, particularly for scale-ups, SMEs and mid-sized businesses. The group added that the partnership is designed to create a new strategic consulting model that blends corporate communications, influence, creator-led engagement and content production.
“We are delighted to welcome Thomas Khaski and the entire Format team to the Havas family. Their expertise strengthens our global capabilities in corporate influence communications, at a time of rapid transformation and convergence across communication channels. This partnership with Havas Paris is fully aligned with our ambition to build differentiated advisory platforms that give our clients a real competitive edge,” said Yannick Bolloré, Chairman and CEO of Havas.
Thomas Khaski, Founder of Format, also added, “Format was born from the belief that corporate communications must be reinvented in an era defined by a massive shift in information consumption towards social media and the rise of new opinion leaders. Joining Havas give us access to a broader playing field while preserving what defines our DNA: agility, operational excellence, and close proximity to new areas of influence.”
