Gucci has recently launched its Fall 2022 collection at the Milan Fashion Week. While the collection itself was enough to make the heads turn, it was the brand’s latest collaboration with Adidas that is making headlines.
During the fashion show, the first up-close images for the upcoming Gucci x Adidas Originals Gazelle sneakers were revealed. Snakeskin, suede, velvet G-monogram, and classic Gucci-colored leather variations were the highlight of the Gazelle.
The Adidas Trefoil logo and Gucci type are featured on the weave-patterned leather tongue and heel tab, while additional branding accents include Gucci and Made in Italy print on the insoles, gold foil Gazelle text along the laterals, and Gucci lace tips.
GQ reported that in the latest collection, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele went back to the “hack lab” to concoct a potent mix of last season’s polished ’70s-Hollywood sleaze with Adidas’s freaky-deeky sportswear legacy.
Gucci took to Instagram to write, “Presenting #adidasxGucci. Signature silhouettes meet the combined creative codes of @adidasoriginals and the House, creating something distinctly new,” while flaunting the new collaborative logo.
The clothing line consisted of a look complete with leather gloves, a knit athletic cap, a double-sized hat, tailored suits, and more, the Adidas X Gucci collection.
Both Adidas and Gucci have been known to collaborate with other leading brands in the past. Last year Gucci partnered with Balenciaga and launched merchandise that took over social media instantly.
Collabs like these always make the headlines and keep the buzz going. Though the partnership’s collection hasn’t even hit the streets yet, it has been making headlines since it launched. It can be said without a doubt that once the collection is in the stores it will sell out in a matter of hours.
